Technology Solutions

Praxis has researched and chosen the best-of-breed technical solutions for the various challenges associated with medical billing and practice management. Our policy is to never use technology for its own sake, but to always temper it with human guidance, experience and quality service.

Practice Management Solutions
Praxis has chosen GE Healthcare’s Centricity® Physician Office Practice Management system for billing and collections.  Unlike traditional practice management software and billing systems, Centricity provides a comprehensive solution to healthcare computing needs -- from billing and scheduling to patient information, inventory control, scanning, EDI (electronic submission, remittance, statements and eligibility) and managed care. Centricity is flexible enough to handle billing for any type of managed care contract. It handles unlimited managed care fee schedules, payer analysis, physician productivity and reimbursement analysis of procedures. A simple inquiry enables you to compare reimbursements by code and procedure for all payers, which makes collections easier and helps manage cash flow.

EMR/EHR
If you currently use or are interested in using an Electronic Medical or Health Record, Praxis integrates with most of the Electronic Medical or Health Record products on the market today.   Patient data needs to be entered only once and provides a seamless solution that efficiently facilitates the billing process.

Digital Charge Capture
Praxis has the capability to receive output files from various sources, including charge capture software or HIS systems. Praxis implements a standard file format and imports all charge and demographic information directly in to its Centricity PM system. This unified data integration speeds up and smoothes all practice management tasks and makes all of our functions more efficient.

HIS Interfacing
We have developed interfaces with hospital HIS systems that integrate the face sheet information with the charge capture information.  This creates a complete electronic process for more efficient and effective claims processing.

Lockbox Imaging
Praxis recommends the use of a bank lockbox to ensure timely posting to a bank account, to reduce potential for fraudulent activity, and to provide scanned image storage of all checks, deposit slips, EOBs and correspondence easily accessible via any web browser. Praxis works with many different bank lockbox services, but we recommend those which index at least three items (patient name (first and last), insurance company, deposit date, amount and document type (EOB, Deposit, Check).  Double sided documents should be scanned on both sides, ensuring that the online document viewer is useful and all pertinent information is available (i.e., Medicare EOBs).
